- Started building homes in 1970 in Ocean Pines, Maryland, Fenwick, Delaware, Dagsboro, Delaware, Selbyville, Delaware, Bethany Beach, Delaware and surrounding areas.
- G. Marvin Steen, President, graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in business. He has been President of Eastern Shore Builders Association which is a member of the National Association of Home Builders. He has also been National Director of NAHB.
- For the last Forty-Six years Steen Associates, Inc. has built townhomes, single family homes and developed large tracks of waterfront land and non-waterfront properties in Worcester County, Maryland and Sussex County, Delaware.
- In 1970, Steen Associates, Inc. built some of the first homes in Ocean Pines.
- In 1970, Steen Associates developed seventy single family lots near Indian River.
- In 1973, Steen developed three farms in Dagsboro, Delaware into one hundred fifty lots called Prince George Acres. Steen also developed commercial property in Millsboro, Delaware on Route 113.
- In 1975, Steen bought over five hundred developed lots from Boise Cascade in Ocean Pines.
- In 1978, Steen bought waterfront property in Ocean Pines and developed it into Wood Duck Isle
- In 1981, Steen bought Wood Duck Isle II and Wood Duck Isle III and developed it into single family lots, on which Steen Associates then built very large expensive luxury homes.
- In 1983, Steen Associates, Inc. was Ryland Homes' Top Builder. The same year "Good Morning America" featured Steen Associates completing a home and a tour of a decorated model on National TV.
- In 1984, Steen Associates developed and built townhomes in Wood Duck IV.
- In 1988, Steen developed Heron Harbor Isle into single family waterfront lots. Steen Associates is building large custom townhomes in Wood Duck Isle and is also building custom single family homes.
- In 1992 and 1993, Steen Associates purchased one hundred eighty five lots in Ocean Pines and sold them as lots, and lot & house packages.
- In 1994 and 1995, Steen Associates developed four parcels in Salt Grass Cove with seven single family homes and fifteen townhouse units.
- In 1996, Steen Associates developed 68 single family waterfront lots known as Harbor Village in Ocean Pines and sold them all by the end of 1997.
- 1998, Steen Associates, Inc. developed four parcels in Salt Grass Cove with seven single family homes and fifteen luxury townhouse units.
- 2000: Steen developed four large waterview lots on Gum Point Road Berlin, Maryland.
- 2001: Steen Associates developed very expensive waterfront lots on Isle of Wight Bay
- 2002: Steen will develop 60 half acre lots between King Richard Road in Ocean Pines to Gum Point Road.
- 2003: Steen Associates laid out 60 half acre lots and start approval proceedings for annexation to Ocean Pines. Steen is also developing a 200 acre waterfront farm in Somerset County known as Hyrock Farms, with 40 one acre Farmettes with Boat Ramp
